Hi We have a Birchwood 22, does anyone else have problems making up the bed in the u shape dinnette?
We are replacing all the cushions in the winter but whenever we use the bed the cushions dont fit together very well and we have a very odd shaped piece of wood for the base, not sure if this was standard or made by an owner in the past but with so many small cushions its so difficult to get anything comfy to sleep on, are we the only ones to use this?? The front one goes so narrow at the point we have had to slit up into two beds but neither of us ever wants the lumpy single, can anyone help please??
Thanks
Vicki

Hi Vickie 15.  I have the sqme problem on my Birchwood 25, so have settled on two single sleeping bags; the sort with a zip so that it can be used as duvet.  There is also the advantage of being easier to roll up and stow away.

Hi Jimbo, We do use two sleeping bags but it's the upholstery cushions that caus us the problem on the u shape dinnette, when you make up the bed the cushions are in so many different shapes thet it's like a jigsaw and very uncomfotable not to mention fustrating as they move during the night and seperate so you end up with deep gaps between them , i don't think either of us have had a good nights sleep on it and we take turns sleeping on the front bed to get some sleep!
As this design seems common between the 22's and 25's just wondered how everyone else gets on or do they just use the front bed???

Hi Vicki 15.

I all ways sleep on the rear cockpit cushions that are over the engine without to much trouble. However have you thought about taking your seperate cushions to a foam supplier and having one cut to shape the same size as all of the seperate ones joined together. Then all you need is a friendly seamstress to make up new covers. Not cheap I know but a possible solution to your problem.
