Hi there and welcome to you both to our Forum. There may not be too much of a problem in moving both seats a little rearwards. Obviously it is no fun standing to steer for any length of time. Generally there are three types of seats. 1, fixed and cannot be moves easily, 2, a hinged seat and 3, a swivel seat fixed to the floor. This last one is the easiest to move since the swivelling seat support tube fits into a large circular fitting which can normally be moved. Types 1 & 2 may need some more thought. It is certainly a help if the Captain's seat can be lowered or removed to provide more space in the cockpit when needed. Regarding the wooden rails around the cockpit; it should not be too difficult to fabricate some to fit. Try talking to several people at your moorings, especially Birchwood owners, and see what thay have done. Best wishes. |
