Popped down to Bray today to pay for the new boat, and thought I would give No Regrets a quick check (She's on the sales pontoon)

The lovely old Sea Tiger fired up immediately, not bad for a '78 Crossflow, and soon settled down to a nice steady idle, despite being parked up for a freezing month.

Inside, all nice and dry, no mould anywhere, and just a few drops of water blown in under the sunroof onto the cockpit floor.
This is very much better than the 2 year old sportcruiser she replaced, which got quite wet inside, and the leakproof cabin simply got wet via humidity, and even the GRP attracted black fungal spots!

What an excellent design!

Looking back as I left the pontoon, and all she needs is a good wash. She's larger than I remembered too!

The Broom is now paid for, and we'll be loading her up tomorrow...

'No Regrets' is now a beautiful Broom 30, berthed in Bray, on the River Thames. I used to own a Birchwood, honest!

Yes, you can either keep plenty of air blowing through to remove the condensation or have a dehumidifier running all winter.

We usually do, but lock closures, and the fact she was sold put paid to that!

Damp has never been an issue with her, even when she was bought, and had been unused for a year, the inside was dry, and smelt so, if you know what I mean!

Mrs N-R won't go inside a damp cabin!

Ah yes I forgot about locks, we on the Norfolk broads have only one that joins Oulton Broad to the sea via lake loathing. There are others like Gelesdon at Beccles but they are not currently in use!!
P.S, Best of luck with the new Broom

Anybody have any thoughts about extending the forum to all classic GRP marques?

They are in fairness similar, with the same engines etc on the whole, and we might benefit from a few new members

Doesn't that mean you would have to change the name to "All classic GRP marques owners association" that doesnt really have the same appeal does it.
No keep all the others out!

Well John, once a Birchwood owner always a Birchwood owner. Long live "No Regrets" and anyway the Forum needs you input.
The fact that Broom's are based in Brundle, means they must be good boats, perhaps we could call the club the "Birchbroomers"
then again perhaps not!!

Enough enough of this thread, and now I'm off to my bed

Regards to all
