| Author : | Topic: Mouldy mooring ropes | Bottom |

Having just spent ages washing and scrubbing and rinsing my mooring ropes, I'm wondering it I can keep them a bit cleaner in future. Has anyone tried soaking their mooring ropes in an anti-mould solution to stop them getting so green with algae? I've got a tin of this Thompson's AntiMould just lying around in the garage... | |||

Hi brianj, I have not got any ideas for stopping ropes and warps from going green but I can tell you the quickest way to clean them. Hand all the mooring ropes and fender strings to 'her indoors' and ask her to do a 40 degree wash using Persil Bio in the jolly old washing machine, you will be amazed at the results, they all come out like new and very white!!!!
