Went for a cruise last Sunday and at last managed to see some kingfishers when I had my camera in my hand!

Luckily, my better half was driving, which left me to rush from side to side of the cabin as the kingfishers zipped from river bank to trees and back again. A couple of slow orbits later (skillfully dodging a couple of passing boats!) I managed to get a couple of pictures.

Have a look at our Logbook > 'September 2008' entry on http://www.nimue.co.uk

Yes, I know that they're not exactly brilliant photos, but they're better than the single blue pixel which I got 3 years ago when I tried photographing one from a boat!

Mmmmm.

Nice grilled with a little olive oil and garlic.

'No Regrets' is now a beautiful Broom 30, berthed in Bray, on the River Thames. I used to own a Birchwood, honest!

If you look carefully at the front left of the BBQ...
