After a peaceful night on board, we awoke this morning to a gentle pitter patter on the cabin roof, which soon subsided by the time breakfast was eaten, and the boat was checked ready to rock n'roll.

I had pressure washed her the night before, and the results were really impressive, mainly on the grippy sections along the gunwhales and roof, but all over too!

The bilges were nice and dry, so my recent engine water leak was fixed by the new gasket from Sheridan (Rear exhaust elbow, so a ten minute job!) and the only fault found was a duff wiper blade.

We did a hard-a-port out of Bray, so headed upstream, and within a few minutes, the Sun was peeking out, and our sunroof slid fully open. This was a result, as the forecast wasn't so kind, but after a two week break, we really wanted to get back on the River, and this was brilliant!

Not in a hurry, we nosed up towards Boulters at a steady 1600rpm, enjoying the greenery and lovely weather, aiming to get to 'The Ferry' at Cookham for some lunch and drinks, and eyeballing Flashheart, in Tailspin II just before the lock, we finally moored up just over 2 hours from Bray, and had a cocktail and Duck!

The trip back was predictably faster, as we were lucky with the locks, although we did wonder what Flash was up to, moored bankside with his curtains drawn.... smile/love2.gif

It's true waht they say, one good day on board makes up for several weeks of poor weather, and reminds you why you do it all smile/beer.gif

Flash by name. Flash by nature!!

Treat yer boat like you treat your woman.

Climb inside her, rev her up and get her wet.

Did I just say that smile/eek.gif
