Can anybody help me please? I have been given a Birchwood by my neighbour as it hasn't been worked on, or even looked at for many years! i have been told that it is either a Birchwwod 19, or 20. however, I have searched images and googled for a boat similar to mine but to no avail. It is a very old boat and I would imaging it will be... early 60's?? it has a Johnson Seahorse 18 horse power outboard (white) but it's distinctive feature is that the second window back on the sides are round 'porthole' type windows which are frosted as this is where the sink and toilet is. does this make sense?? can someone help either identify it, point me to a picture of it, or tell me how to identify it. thank you and here's hoping

Er really?

To the left of the rainbow strip just above your reply box, is an 'Eye' logo.

Click it to open and close image brackets. Or, just type and paste the web address of the picture you wish to display!

sorry chaps. I have been looking at my web browser for days and I have no rainbow strip or eye logo however, I have worked out how to do it but I don't have a website, so all rather useless I'm afraid. can I send an image by email. I know I was cheeky and sent one to the person who owns 'No regrets' but I am rather anxious to find out what this little beauty is. 'Ramage' the piture wasn't my boat as mine has a small round 'porthole' on the side. Am I driving people mad yet?

Er, hang on a minute...

When you press reply, you get a grey box in which you type stuff.

You MUST have one, as you are replying...

Now, just above that box is a row of square buttons thus:

B I U S and then a 'Mail' symbol, then an Eye symbol.

Are you with us so far?

BRILLIANT!! Thanks chaps, now all I want to do is try to find out what it looked like originally and I can try to restore it. thanks to you no regrets, and Ramage. should I guess at early 60's as a date? I have no idea how long this design was built for, or where I can find out what the interior etc. should have looked like. great Start tho! and I apologise for being a plank, I was using the quick reply feature and not 'post' reply. I've got all the features now smile/totoz6.gif I really do appredciate your help. I'm pleased I found the website, Great!

Good one - and I for one have never seen a Birchwood 20 and as for what they orginally looked like have absolutely no idea - not too different from how it looks now would be my guess!

Just to let you all know that Debt one is being re-vamped and is starting to feelbetter.I do need to know however, either how to build, or where I can get hold of a steering helm console (I assume that's what its called) as I have nowhere to put the steering wheel and I have been told that you cannot get a steering helm console as they are only made for the individual boat. any thoughts please? I wil, post pictures when the steering is complete if anyone is interested

MDF is your friend!

Make a shallow box and mount the steering gear and instruments on it.

Trim it with thin foam overlaid with textured PVC (It workd for Lotus in the '70's!) and try to hide all the screws and fastenings.
