Its quiet on here lately. Everyone must be making the most of the short summer we are having at the mo.

So everybody, what are your plans?

Any interesting cruises on the agenda?

Tell us about any trips you have taken or are planning over this - our first year with a proper meeting place for Birchwood owners,  and don't be afraid to tell of any mishaps. Our Birchwoods might be indestructable but we all have our problems with the old gals.

So happy cruising everyone with whatever summer we have left.

And to any non Birchwood owners (Freemans very much included), the message is - Keep banging the rocks together guys!!!

We plan to use her every weekend, with as many guests as possible, unless its a BCC event.

It's the only way to make the per-voyage cost palatable, and the old girl entertains so well!

No issues this year, other than the rear manifold weep, which was cured on the spot, although I'll watch it like a hawk!

Love the boat to bits, it's a sound design which I reckon would be marketable today with a few minor improvements.

I'll kick off with a new thread where we can all suggest a 'perfect' Birchwood 25 in fact

Our next trip is up to Marlow. We are helping at a Sea Scout summer camp at Longridge, so I am taking Carli for Marian & I to sleep on board.. much better than a tent!

"Carli" is a Birchwood 25 powered by the mighty Sea Panther diesel on shaft. She is based at Bray marina on the River Thames.

Well will be mostly a weekend cruiser for the next month but got some good long weekends thrown in too. Will be down this weekend till tuesday eve.
Lets hope the weather works wonders for all our outings coming up

What are the Great Ouse cruisers up too, especially the ones with slidey windows?

We shall be cruising upstream from Bray, at around 11AM this fine Sunday morning, and look forward to eyeballing anybody who braves the forecast

If not, have a nice weekend, we'll be thinking of you
