My 1978 is 25 gallons, apparently! The bands are easy, Freeman marine sell a manual, but check our previous posts too!
| 'No Regrets' is now a beautiful Broom 30, berthed in Bray, on the River Thames. I used to own a Birchwood, honest! |

Hi there, Easy peasy. Just measure the width, depth and length of your petrol tank in feet and inches. Multiply these three figure together to get the volumn in cubic feet. Then 1 cubic foot has a capacity of 6.25 galls. So cubic feet capacity multiplied by 6.25 will give you the total capacity. Many Birchwoods have had their petrol tank replaced and so perhaps there is no standard size. On ST.KITTS the fuel tank holds 19.5 galls. Once you know the total capacity then you can see how accurate the fuel guage is reading when you add petrol to the tank. Hope that helps. |

Many thanks for the info on both subjects - will measure the petrol tank on Saturday and report back. Will also report back on my gearbox band adjustment exploits in due course.....
