Where I can get someone to loop at my Kipor 3000ti petrol generator.  After two years faithfull service and always starting first time, she ran out of fuel and now wont start (yes I have refueld lol)  I am completely mechanically pathetic, our local generator company wont look because its Kipor, so anyone know anyone who can help, the lady will refuse to get on the boat unless we have power :-(

Well. if you ran out of petrol and now it will not restart it is most likely to be muck in the carburettor or a stuck float.

I would think that a motorcycle or scooter dealer would have a mechanic who could look at that for you. Otherwise someone who works on Outboards. Remember to stress you do not have a generator fault, just an engine problem.

Don't ask a Honda dealer though!

Pop the cover off, and you'll find a small screw at the bottom of the float chamber.

Unscrew it a turn or three, see if fuel dribbles out. If it does, it's got fuel to the engine (Unless the jets are blocked)

Before you do this, try:

(Remove cover)

1/ Remove plug, earth tip and pull starter. Does it spark (Obviously turn machine into 'run' position first eh?)

No spark? Problem. Try plug...still no spark? Big problem...

2/ Got spark? Try draining float bowl. If fuel comes out, the jets are blocked, so remove carb or float bowl and unscrew brass jets, clean tiny holes with wire, till you can see daylight through them, and refit it all.

No fuel comes out? the float valve is jammed. First check the fuel line to the carb leaks fuel when pulled off of carb, if fuel comes out, rap carb with modest hammer (Don't smash the fucking thing to bits though)  and see if fuel drains out via float bowl screw.
If not, strip and check carb. It may be a bit of crap in a hole somewhere...

Otherwise, leave it with me to play with
